Did You Know…

Existing Ben-e-lect cases rolling to a new carrier get new ID cards…

Many of you may not have known this, but if you have a current Ben-e-lect case that is remaining with Ben-e-lect, but changing carriers, your group will receive all new ID cards.

The process is similar to that of a new group coming on with Ben-e-lect except that there are a few more steps involved on our end. For this reason, it can take up to 5 business days for your existing business to receive their updated ID cards.

In the situation that the new carrier is Blue Shield or Nationwide Plans 4-6, we will not be able to load the employees until we have the Carrier’s ID numbers. Because the employee may still be using their old Ben-e-lect card showing their past ID number, we are not able to make the ID number change in our Prescription system until the day the cards are delivered. This change is made by 5:00 pm on the day the cards are delivered.

Therefore, if an employee goes into the pharmacy before 5:00pm on the day they receive their new card and try to use it to pick up a prescription, they may not be recognized in the system by their new ID number as of yet.

We suggest that if you have an employee that ends up in this situation, that they take both their new and old Ben-e-lect ID cards in.

For more details please contact your Ben-e-lect Regional Sales Manager.

If you have a client who is interested in doing an HSA, consider offering an HSA alongside an HRA for those people

who do not want the HSA plan. This can be shown using our

Mix “N” Match plan design with our Online Quoting System.
